On 29 February 2024, the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) in Manila, Philippines, hosted a significant event – the Conferment Ceremony of the Certificate of Appreciation. This prestigious certificate, bestowed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, was awarded to Mr. Joseph Cue Sy, Honorary Consul of the Lao PDR to Davao, Philippines. The ceremony took place at the Lao Ambassador’s Residence in Manila.
His Excellency Sonexay VANNAXAY, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to the Republic of Philippines, represented the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR during this noteworthy occasion. Ambassador VANNAXAY formally presented the certificate to Honorary Consul of the Lao PDR to Davao.
The ceremony highlights the exceptional contributions of Honorary Consul Joseph Cue Sy, who has actively and significantly contributed to the success of the Embassy of the Lao PDR in the Philippines as well as the Lao PDR as a whole. His efforts have particularly focused on the dissemination of information related to trade, investment, and tourism through the website.
Notably, his work has aimed at encouraging and attracting more Philippine investments and tourists to the Lao PDR and also contributed the office equipment namely laptops to the Embassy, organized the Lao Ambassador’s golf tournament as well as other activities in order to introduce the business sectors know more about Lao PDR.
His Excellency Ambassador Sonexay VANNAXAY expressed the profound gratitude to Honorary Consul Joseph Cue Sy for his significant contributions, which have played a pivotal role in strengthening the bilateral relation between Laos and the Philippines and will continue this effort in the future.
